NORTH JERSEY DOULAS

Premium doula support, from Westfield to Wyckoff

Premium birth and postpartum doula care for North Jersey families.

Forever Doula provides certified birth and postpartum doulas to families all across North Jersey, from Bergen and Passaic to Essex, Morris and Union counties. Maybe you're getting ready to deliver at Cooperman Barnabas in Livingston, Morristown Medical Center or Hackensack. Maybe your sweet baby is already home, whether that's a colonial in Ridgewood, a Victorian in Montclair or a split-level in Wayne, and nights at your place are busier than the GWB (we see you, mama!). Wherever you are in your journey, we've got you covered.

We're based in Sayreville, NJ, and we support families all over North Jersey (and Jersey City, too). Our founder, Sarah Comis, has been a doula since 2015, and our team of certified doulas has supported more than 375 families. Every one of them gets the same thing: premium care, no judgment, and a team that's in your corner for good.

birth doulas in NORTH JERSEY

Your birth, your way! Natural, medicated, a planned c-section or a VBAC: whatever your plan is, your doula is there to help you reach your goals, with no pressure and no judgment.

North Jersey is home to 10 of the 19 New Jersey hospitals on Newsweek's 2026 list of America's Best Maternity Hospitals, and your doula will meet you at any of them, including Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, Morristown Medical Center, Overlook Medical Center in Summit, Hackensack University Medical Center, The Valley Hospital in Paramus, Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck and Englewood Hospital.

Even better, New Jersey law requires every hospital and birthing center to have a policy that lets doulas be with you before, during and after birth. Each hospital sets its own details, like how many people can join you in the room, so we'll go over your hospital's policy with you well before your due date. No surprises on the big day!

Planning a home birth instead? No problem. We'll meet you wherever you plan to deliver!

postpartum doulas in NORTH JERSEY

Who says you have to do this alone? Whether you're in Maplewood, Madison or Mahwah, our postpartum doulas come right to your door, so you can rest, recover and actually enjoy those first weeks with your baby.

Overnight newborn care. Being a mom is amazing, but being a well-rested mom is simply magical. Your overnight doula (you might hear "night doula," "night nurse" or "night nanny") arrives in the evening and takes the night shift. She brings baby to you when it's time to nurse, or handles the bottle while you keep sleeping. She takes care of the diapers, the burping and the soothing, washes the bottles and pump parts, and in the morning she walks you through the whole night.

Expecting twins? Our overnight doulas care for twins and multiples too, so every baby is fed, changed and settled while you get the sleep you need.

Daytime support. Daytime visits usually last 4 to 6 hours. Your doula can help with feeding (breast, bottle or both), baby baths and swaddling, your recovery (including after a c-section), light meals and baby laundry. Getting ready to go back to work (and back on the NJ Transit train into the city)? She can help you build a feeding and sleep routine that works for your whole family.

Our overnight and daytime care is billed by the hour, with lower rates when you book more time. You'll find current rates on our Postpartum Support page, and our guide How Much Does a Doula Cost in NJ and NYC? explains it all.

A Childbirth Class in Your North Jersey Home

Skip the crowded hospital classroom (and the Route 17 traffic to get there, unless it's a Sunday). Our 3-in-1 Childbirth Education Class happens right in your own living room!

In one private, 6-hour class, you and your partner will learn what to expect in labor and birth, how to get breastfeeding off to a great start, and how to care for your newborn (and yourself) once you're home. Expecting twins? We cover twin births, too. It's all taught by Sarah Comis, a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator and Spinning Babies Certified Parent Educator, at your pace and with plenty of time for every question on your list. By the time you're done, you'll be a pro. You've got this!
