LACTATION COUNSELING
Breastfeeding help from a Certified Lactation Counselor, right in your own home.
LATCH ON, stress off!
Whether you're nursing, pumping or doing a bit of both, a Certified Lactation Counselor will help you and your sweet baby find your rhythm, right at home.
Feeding your baby shouldn't hurt this much…
Here's what nobody tells you: breastfeeding is a skill you and your sweet baby learn together, and it doesn't always click right away. Maybe the latch hurts. Maybe you're not sure baby is getting enough. Maybe you're staring at a pump with a dozen parts, wondering where to even start. (We see you, mama!)
That's where we come in. A Certified Lactation Counselor comes to your home, watches a real feed and helps you find what works for you and your baby. No car seat, no waiting room, no getting dressed. (Pajamas are very welcome here!)
WHAT HAPPENS DURING YOUR VISIT?
Your visit is two full hours, so nobody is rushing you or your baby. Let's take a look...
We work through whatever is coming up for you: pain, supply worries, pumping, bottles, and more.
1.
We talk through your birth, how feeding is going so far, and your goals. Nursing, pumping, formula, or a mix, your goals lead.
2.
We watch a full feed and help with latch and positioning, right in your favorite feeding spot.
3.
You leave with a clear plan for the next few days, so you're not trying to remember everything at 3 a.m.
4.
Questions after we leave? With our Forever Promise, we're always just a phone call away.

LACTATION FAQ
-
A lactation counselor helps you and your baby with feeding: latch, positioning, comfort, milk supply questions, pumping and bottles. At a Forever Doula visit, your counselor comes to your home, watches a full feed and leaves you with a plan for the days ahead.
-
Both help families with feeding. A Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) is certified by the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice after in-depth lactation training and an exam. An International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) also completes 300 to 1,000 hours of supervised clinical practice and handles complex medical feeding issues. Most common challenges, like latch, positioning, pumping and supply worries, are exactly what a CLC is trained for. If we ever think you need an IBCLC or your pediatrician, we'll tell you right away.
-
As soon as feeding hurts or just feels off. Many families book in the first days or weeks home, but we can help any time you're feeding your baby, including when you start pumping or get ready to go back to work.
-
Nope! Anyone in our service area can book a lactation visit, whether or not you've worked with us before.
-
A 2-hour visit in your home is $350. We accept HSA and FSA cards.
-
Absolutely. We help with pumping schedules and flange fit, paced bottle feeding and combination feeding. Your goals lead, and we support whatever plan works for your family.
-
Yes! We'll help you find positions that work for two babies, including feeding them at the same time, plus a plan for pumping and bottles if you need one.
-
Just you, your baby and anything you're already using, like your pump, bottles or nipple shields. If you can, book around a time your baby usually eats, so we can watch a full feed. And please don't clean up for us!
