BRONX DOULAS

Premium doula support, from Riverdale to City Island

Premium birth and postpartum doula care for Bronx families.

Forever Doula provides certified birth and postpartum doulas to families all over The Bronx. Maybe you're getting ready to deliver at Montefiore, Jacobi or BronxCare. Maybe your sweet baby is already home, whether that's a prewar apartment on the Grand Concourse, a co-op in Riverdale or a house in Throgs Neck, and your newborn is louder than Yankee Stadium after a walk-off (we see you, mama!). Wherever you are in your journey, we've got you covered.

We're based in Sayreville, NJ, and we support families all across New York City. Our founder, Sarah Comis, has been a doula since 2015, and our team of certified doulas has supported more than 375 families. Every one of them gets the same thing: premium care, no judgment, and a team that's in your corner for good.

birth doulas in THE BRONX

Your birth, your way! Whether you're hoping for an unmedicated birth, planning on an epidural, scheduled for a c-section or preparing for a VBAC, your doula is there to help you reach your goals, with no pressure and no judgment.

The Bronx doesn't have a birth center yet, so most Bronx families deliver at one of the borough's hospitals, and your doula will meet you at any of them: Montefiore Einstein's Weiler Hospital in Morris Park, Montefiore Wakefield, Jacobi Medical Center on Pelham Parkway, BronxCare in Mount Eden and Lincoln Medical Center in the South Bronx.

Good news: New York State law gives you the right to have your doula with you during childbirth and your hospital stay afterward. Each hospital still sets its own rules about how many people can join you in the room, so we'll go over your hospital's policies with you well before your due date. No surprises on the big day!

Planning a home birth instead? No problem. We'll meet you wherever you plan to deliver!

postpartum doulas in THE BRONX

Who says you have to do this alone? From a walk-up in Belmont to a high-rise in Co-op City, our postpartum doulas come right to your door, so you can rest, recover and actually enjoy those first weeks with your baby.

Overnight newborn care. Being a mom is amazing, but being a well-rested mom is simply magical. Your overnight doula (you might hear "night doula," "night nurse" or "night nanny") arrives in the evening and takes the night shift. She brings baby to you when it's time to nurse, or handles the bottle while you keep sleeping. She takes care of the diapers, the burping and the soothing, washes the bottles and pump parts, and in the morning she walks you through the whole night.

Expecting twins? Our overnight doulas care for twins and multiples too, so every baby is fed, changed and settled while you get the sleep you need.

Daytime support. Daytime visits usually last 4 to 6 hours. Your doula can help with feeding (breast, bottle or both), baby baths and swaddling, your recovery (including after a c-section), light meals and baby laundry. Getting ready to go back to work (and back on the 4 train)? She can help you build a feeding and sleep routine that works for your whole family.

Our overnight and daytime care is billed by the hour, with lower rates when you book more time. You'll find current rates on our Postpartum Support page, and our guide How Much Does a Doula Cost in NJ and NYC? explains it all.

A Childbirth Class in Your Bronx Home

Skip the crowded hospital classroom (and the Cross Bronx traffic to get there). Our 3-in-1 Childbirth Education Class happens right in your own living room!

In one private, 6-hour class, you and your partner will learn what to expect in labor and birth, how to get breastfeeding off to a great start, and how to care for your newborn (and yourself) once you're home. Expecting twins? We cover twin births, too. It's all taught by Sarah Comis, a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator and Spinning Babies Certified Parent Educator, at your pace and with plenty of time for every question on your list. By the time you're done, you'll be a pro. You've got this!
